Zerqua exists because shopping for aquarium and terrarium gear is usually a mess. You either wade through a faceless mega-store with ten thousand near-identical listings and no idea which one is any good, or you pay specialist-shop prices for the privilege of a knowledgeable stare. We wanted a third option: a focused shop, run by people who actually keep fish and reptiles, that sells the gear we'd put in our own tanks and helps you set it up properly.
Curated, not crammed
We don't try to sell everything. Every product in the shop is chosen by active aquarists and reptile keepers, judged on whether it actually does the job, not on how cheaply we can list it. If we wouldn't trust it with our own livestock, it doesn't make the cut. That means a smaller, sharper range across both sides of the hobby: tanks, filtration, lighting, heating, substrate and décor for aquatics; enclosures, heating, lighting, hides and bioactive supplies for reptiles and terrariums.
Advice, not just checkout
The gear is only half of it. Getting a tank or a terrarium right (cycling, lighting, heating, the things that quietly kill fish and stress reptiles) is where most people get stuck. So we write honest, practical guides on our blog, and if you're unsure what you need, you can email a real keeper before you spend a cent. We'd rather you bought the right thing once than the wrong thing twice.
